Your Hostess

Hélène, your hostess, is in her sixties.

She is a passionate reader of books and and enjoys getting lost in the universes of her romans. She is a quixotic person keen to profitate from life and has many interests.
She knows Paris by heart, from the last movie to Argentin tangos she knows everthing.
She is a gentle, sensible and extraordinary lady who, in a time where people do not talk much anymore, still stops people in the street because they look exceptionally.
She has got a lot of character and always takes time to listen.

She receives friends and her parents visiting Paris at the studio and lives next door with her companion. When the studio is available she loves welcoming visitors.

Hélène loves cultural exchanges and greets you just like her friends very heartly. Passionatly involved in the Parisian life, she would be pleased to advise you concerning your visites and tours or even join you if you take your time to ask her and speak French.
Hélène speaks only little English but she manages to understand you... If not, her daughter, advocate, or her son, movie director, will be glad to assiste you interpreting via the phone.

Annette and Helene speak fluent Italian. Annette also speaks Spanish and can be your interpreter if necessary.

The studio Hélène offers you

The entire studio will be exclusively for the guest, offering complete privacy and full use of the facilities.

The location of this studio is lovely. It is situated in the heart of its district, which is very calm. Surrounded by art galleries and next to the popular Place des Vosges it will be no problem to discover Paris by foot.

Its courtyard is encircled by French monuments, since it is a historical part of Paris.


Located on the third floor (without lift) of a building constructed at the end of the 17th century, Hélène's studio (around 40 m2) is sunny, thanks to its three windows.

The floor is made of tiles and covered by Persian carpets, the ceiling has exposed beams and there is an alcôve of the studio by a wrought iron screen whichgives a charming and romantic atmosphere.


Located very near to the heart of the city, and near to the well known Place des Vosges, you will rest perfectly in serenity because it is located on a very small street with no traffic.




This 40 m2 studio offers:


1° an alcove with a double bed queen size (160X190), a cable television (20 channels) and a telephone ...


2° a small kitchen - American style, (available just for a light and not smelly cooking) equipped with a sink, a fridge, a cooker, a microwave, crockery, and a supply of : pasta, rice, salt, pepper, vinegar oil ...







3° a main room with decent and modern design. The elegant curtains and large bookcases will enchant you.

The decoration matches Hélènes character perfectly. Numerous bookcases are filled with her beloved novels she will be pleased to lend you. Furthermore the studio is adorned with posters and photos of Italian movies and actors (Hélène does indeed have Italien roots). Next to the bed you find a basket with appels, as the Italian legend tells you will have a good night sleep with it.



An antique, small single bed (70X180) can be prepared for a child or an adolescent.



4° a bathroom with a washbasin, a bathtubwith a hand held shower.
This bathroom seems to many visitors like a theater stage, as one corner is very much decorated and has an atypical charme.
Of course, you will find a hair dryer to your disposal.


5° There is a separate toilet,

Please note that despite the comfort and calmness of this studio you might not be confortable if you are are rather looking for something like a conventional hotel room providing room service and fresh towels every day. This studio is a very special and extraordinary place but it might not be likes by everybody, since it is rather atypical.

Breakfast

Breakfast is not served.
You will find some ingredients like coffee, tea, butter and jam at your disposal in the kitchen.

Héléne will show you where to find the best bakeries so you will be able to buy your own baguette and croissants just like real Parisians do every morning...

Additional Information

Hélène's studio is long to be prepared and Hélène would appreciate if your stay is 4 nights minimum.

Dropping your luggage is possible after 1 pm if you state the time of your arrival and are on time. Otherwise, you will be expected between 6 and 7 pm.

If you are allergic the studio might not be appropriate for you for it is decorated with lots of fabrics.

Hélène is a very sensible lady and asks you to respect her property, leaving every think you touch at it initial place.

Your hostess will not receive children under 12 years, since her equipment is very fragile and she already witnesses breaking some things.

Hélène does not own animals and will not receive any.

Hélène does not smoke and will only receive non-smokers.

You may use the phone to receive or make calls with the help of a prepaid card.

You can also, if you have a laptop, get connected on Internet.

An iron and an ironing board are to your disposal.

There is a washing machine that you can use if you stay at the accommodation for more than 5 nighs. Then you will have to telephone to Helene so that she can explain how it works to you.
